Welcome to Hunt Gather Talk, Season Three. This season will focus entirely on fish and seafood, freshwater and salt. Think of this as the podcast behind my latest cookbook, Hook, Line, and Supper, which covers all things aquatic.

This episode is all about fly angling for the “fly curious.” I called up fly fishing expert April Vokey of Anchored Outdoors and we started with the joke “fly fishing sucks: change my mind,” and from there we really got into all sorts of issues surrounding fly fishing, from catch-and-release, to what I call the “Orvis Boys,” to real instances where, frankly, using a fly rod is just better than conventional tackle.
