It’s gift-giving season again, and I reckon I would run down some of the stuff I use a lot that helps me hunt, gather, fish and cook. I use and recommend everything here.
It’s getting closer… I just found out my book, “Hunt, Gather, Cook,” is finally available for pre-order online — and I am totally psyched!
Just found out Hunter Angler Gardener Cook was nominated for a another James Beard Award – this makes two major nominations this year, as I’m also up for an IACP award for Best Food Blog. Wish me luck!
This is the hardest post I’ve ever had to write. Paka the Cat, my best companion for 15 years, died of heart failure Sunday. I can’t stop sobbing.

I am a finalist in the category, along with Andrew Knowlton’s blog over at Bon Appetit magazine and a crew of writers over at Sunset [...]
UPDATE, 1/22/09: This has become quite a contest! The Well Fed Network, which is graciously running the Best Food Blog Awards for 2008, has nominated food bloggers for prizes in 14 categories, but no other category is the competition as spirited as in the one in which Hunter Angler Gardener Cook is a finalist: Best [...]
Chez Pim has announced this year’s raffle winners for Menu for Hope, a benefit run by the food blogging multiverse to benefit a worthy cause, in this case children in the South African kingdom of Lesotho. I was both a raffle-r and an raffl-ee this time, and I must say I am pleased with the result [...]
UPDATE, 12/27/08: I just want to say how happy and flattered I am for all of you who have bought a raffle ticket for this prize: As of this morning, we’ve raised more than $700 for charity! Just a reminder that despite the logo of Menu for Hope, you can still buy raffle tickets up [...]
