‘Tis Ducking Season

Officially duck season began in late October, but after the first two weeks it slows down until we get cold weather. Well, we’re supposed to get a low of 32 tomorrow (yes, I know, this is not cold for most people…) so hunting ought to pick up soon. We’re planning on giving it a go Sunday, but as a warm-up I wanted to post my girl Holly’s story about her first duck ever. It was a year ago today, and it wasn’t quite the shining moment every hunter wants it to be. Such is life. But it does aptly illustrate our views on hunting, so here it is.

Great story.
The ponds are long frozen here, and even if you could find a duck, sitting outside in -26C would really, really, really suck. So no sympathy for you!
